It was a tough day in your school. The teachers were tormenting the students again as they gave you works to do. As you opened your door, you saw Liam, your boyfriend, waiting for you. He looked at you and smiled widely.

“How was school, babe?” He asked you warily, his arms wide open. You approached him and gave him a big hug. “It seems like you’re very tired.”

“I am. They gave us countless home works. They are torturing us, again.” You rolled your eyes as you sat down beside him. He put his arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer to him. “And that means, we can’t go out tonight.”

“It’s okay. All I want is to spend my time with my girlfriend.” He planted a kiss on your hair. You can feel yourself smiling. Sitting up straight, you got your things out of your bag.

“First, I have to do an essay about my inspiration.”

“That wouldn’t be hard. Just look at me and your problem is solved.” He chuckled lightly. You stuck your tongue out and pinched his nose weakly.

“You’re arrogant, you know.”

“You’re unlucky, then. Falling for an arrogant lad like me.” He winked, laughing softly. You shook your head gently. You know Liam is not that kind of person. In fact, he’s the opposite of that. He’s very down-to-earth, nice, understanding, caring and most importantly, loving.

“I am, indeed.” You smirked as you saw his eyes widened in awe. His expression changed after a second. He stood up, went to the table infront of you, and he started to unbutton the shirt he was wearing while smiling cheekily. “What are you doing?”

He didn’t respond but after unbuttoning his shirt, he suddenly laughed out loud. He was pointing at you, guffawing. You raised your eyebrows, curious why he is pointing at you. You shot him a deadly look and after that, he stopped laughing. “You should have seen your reaction. It was really.. haha.. funny.. haha.. I can’t. hahaha. that was amaz——”

You threw your notebook at him and it hit his face. It was your turn to laugh. You giggled uncontrollably. He was staring at you seriously as he was walking towards you. You gulped and closed your eyes. You know what’s going to happen next and you’re not ready yet. You’re too young. He touched your cheek and he started to caress it. Then, he pinched it hard. “We should stop playing, babe. You need to start on your essay.”

You opened your eyes and saw Liam sitting beside you again. He was reading a magazine but he was smiling mischievously. You bit your lip, trying to stop yourself from saying some stupid things. “(Y/N), you can’t do your work if you’re going to look at me like that.”

“Whatever.” You rolled your eyes, picking up the pen. You don’t know what to write. Your English teacher said you can’t pick your parents because it would be too mainstream. You started to write things. Suddenly, you felt Liam’s head on your shoulder. He kissed your cheek and said, “You don’t know how to spell”.

“Look who’s talking.”

“Oh, you want to test my skills?”

“We don’t have to. I already know what you’re capable of.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment. Thank you.” He chuckled softly, handing me a pen and paper. “If you don’t want to test my skills, I’ll test yours.”

“Seriously?”

He nodded and you accepted the pen and paper. His eyes were twinkling and obviously, he was enjoying the moment. “Okay. You’re going to spell 2 words. First, enthusiasm.”

“Really? You’re asking me the spell——”

“Hush, babe. I know what I’m doing. Second, beautiful.”

You were scribbling the words he just mentioned. Looking back at him, he held his hand out as if asking for the paper. You gave it to him. “Those words were pretty easy.”

“Really? You spelled beautiful wrong.” He smiled wickedly. You grabbed the paper from him and looked at your spelling. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. 

“I’m right! It is spelled as B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!” You remarked, showing him your paper. His eyes didn’t land on the paper but they went to your eyes. He grinned sweetly and said, “Nope. It’s capital Y-O-U”.

You buried your face on a pillow so Liam won’t see you blush. You heard him chuckle. Then, he whispered to your ear. “What’s your last name, again?”

“WE’VE BEEN TOGETHER FOR 4 MONTHS NOW AND STILL, YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT MY LAST NAME IS?!” You shouted. He seemed surprised but amused at the same time. “What kind of a boyfriend are you?”

“I know what your last name is, love. It’s just hard to spell. Your last name is unique, right? ” He poked your nose. “Now, stop being dramatic and spell it for me.” He grinned sweetly.

You wrote down your last name and showed it to him. To your surprise, he shook his head slowly and muttered, “Wrong again.”

“You said you don’t know the spelling of my last name? This is how it is spelled. (Spelling of your last name). Why are you arguing with me?” You threw the pen at the floor and let go of the paper. Your face grew hot and you can feel the blood rushing to your head. Liam picked up the paper and pen, sat down again and wrote something down. He nudged you weakly and handed you the paper. 

PAYNE.

“That’s your last name, don’t forget that.” He hugged you tight and massaged your back soothingly. “Don’t get mad easily. You look ugly when you’re angry.”

You laughed softly as he let go of you. He checked his watch and looked at you. “I have to go now. It’s already 7pm. The lads are waiting for me. Be good, okay?”

“Yes, boss.” You replied. He stood up and you did the same. You opened the door for him and he stepped out of your house. You closed the door and about to take a step when someone knocked. You opened it swiftly and saw Liam smiling at you.

“One last thing.” He said, still grinning.

“Yup? What i—-“

He leaned forward and smashed his lips against yours. He sighed into your mouth and he deepened the kiss even more, moving his lips more sweetly against yours. You can sense that he was smiling. He stood straight again, breaking the kiss. “I love you. Good night.”

He turned his back and went to his car. You closed the door, still can’t get over of what just happened. He’s really good in terms of surprising you. He still doesn’t fail to make your heart race. That’s what you love most about him. As you were walking towards the couch, you’ve finally decided on what to write on your essay. It will be about him. Liam James Payne.
